BHS Boys Place Second in Regional Swim Championship

The boys placed second and girls placed fifth in the regional championship meet this weekend.

The Broadneck High School boys swim team tallied 292 points to place second at the 4A/3A East Region Swim Championships this past weekend. The girls team placed fifth with 240 points. Severna Park High School won both titles with the boys scoring 330 points and the girls, 296. There were many excellent swims during the regional meet with a number of the Broadneck swimmers qualifying for the state championship being held Saturday at the University of Maryland College Park aquatics center. The team will have 12 individual entries in the state meet while all six relays will also compete.

Broadneck Bows to Severna Park in County Swim Championship

Broadneck's boys team placed second in the county's swimming championship meet on Friday.

Broadneck High School's boys swim team placed second at the county meet this past Friday, scoring 101 points. Severna Park took the county crown with 129 points. Broadneck's girls' swim team placed fourth at the county championships. The teams scored 80 points behind Annapolis, 117; Severna Park, 103 and South River, 84. This Saturday, Broadneck competes in the regional championships being held at the Arundel Olympic Swim Center in Annapolis.

Broadneck Swim Team Tops Glen Burnie, Arundel

BHS continues its streak of wins after two recent meets.

Broadneck's boys and girls swim teams continued their winning ways this past weekend with convincing victories over Arundel and Glen Burnie high schools. The team's record now stands at 8-0. The boys team beat Arundel 64-30 while overtaking Glen Burnie 81-10. Broadneck girls beat Arundel 57-37 while overcoming Glen Burnie 75-16. Arundel boys and girls also beat Glen Burnie. On Friday, the Broadneck teams take on their toughest competition of the year in a quad meet with Severna Park, South River and Annapolis high schools.

Broadneck Swimmers Undefeated So Far

BHS swimmers swept their last tri-meet and will swim again on Friday.

The Broadneck girls and boys swim teams improved to 4-0 this season after beating Old Mill and Northeast high schools Friday. The BHS boys bested Old Mill by just 10 points, 52-42, but handily knocked off Northeast 83-10. The Broadneck girls beat Old Mill 74-20 and Northeast by a 64-29. Old Mill boys and girls both bested their Northeast opponents 83-10.
