Arnold Safeway Launches Gas Rewards Program with Exxon/Mobil

For every $1 spent, customers receive one point. Every 100 points can be redeemed for 10 cents off per gallon at the pump.

It's time to put all those trips to Safeway to use at the pump. The Arnold location of the supermarket chain launched a gas rewards program for Exxon/Mobil gas stations on Wednesday. Customers will now accumulate points with each purchase, and can use them for gas discounts, between 10 cents to $1 off each gallon. For every $1 spent, customers receive one point. Every 100 points can be redeemed for 10 cents off per gallon at the pump. The discount program is similar to the one Giant supermarket uses with Shell gas stations, but it is the first rewards program of its kind for Arnold residents. Your right about that too. Don't buy their packaged fruit (strawberries, blackberries) - hidden mold on the bottom row where you cannot see it. I was always throwing away most of the package. Same with oranges or apples in a package, many bad in the bags. There is not enough turnover, probably because the store is so poorly managed. UPDATE: 2 Gas Stations Without Power Along Route 50

The power has been out since Tuesday night, an Exxon employee told Patch.

UPDATE (9:02 a.m. 10/4)—Power was restored to the area by 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Wawa employee. UPDATE (1:05 p.m.)—BGE representative Rachael Lighty said a power outage along Route 50 is a result of a problem with an underground power line, and is affecting 32 customers in the region—including the Wawa and Exxon gas stations. There is a repair crew currently working on the scene, Lighty said on Wednesday afternoon, but it could take several hours to resolve. "It's a little more labor-intensive to repair underground lines," she said. With gas prices digging in to all of our budgets, Patch went on a hunt (by internet to save gas, of course) for the cheapest gas in the area. As of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, the lowest gas prices for regular gas in Arnold is $3.519 and can be found at Exxon at 317 Buschs Frontage Rd. and 7-Eleven at 730 E. College Parkway. The lowest price in Arnold for plus gas is $3.659 and can be found at WaWa at 321 Buschs Frontage Rd. This WaWa also has the lowest price on premium gas at $3.659 Severna Park’s lowest price on regular gas is $3.519 and can be found at 7-Eleven on 497 Jumpers Hole Rd.
