AACC's women had a perfect streak of seven wins through the regional tournament, capping their final home game with a 20-7 victory.
In their moment of glory on Thursday night, the women's lacrosse team at Anne Arundel Community College kept things light—gathering around a camera to make goofy faces in the lockerroom. The team had much to celebrate after its 20-7 victory over Howard Community College. The Pioneers swept the Maryland Junior College tournament with a perfect record of seven straight wins. The women’s lacrosse team at Anne Arundel Community College is in position to secure the Maryland Juco conference championship for the 2013 season. With two conference contests remaining, the Pioneers can wrap up the title and lock up the top seed for the Region 20 tournament with a win over Howard Community College Thursday night. The Maryland JUCO has just released their October Student Athlete of the Month Awards and Anne Arundel Community College’s Meghenn Jackson has earned the accolade for women’s soccer. Jackson has been an offensive leader for the Pioneers the entire season. Last week the Pioneers captured the Region 20 and District H titles and Jackson led the way with four goals and one assist for the tournament. Pioneers will play in national tournament Nov. 8-11 at Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, NY.
The Lady Pioneers will face Richland College of Dallas in its first game of a national women's soccer tournament on Thursday. Anne Arundel Community College's Pioneers earned its spot in the nationals by claiming the regional and district championship title against the top-seeded Potomac State College. In the match against Potomac on Oct. 27, AACC took the early lead and carried a 2-0 lead into halftime. Each team would score a goal in the second half but it was AACC capturing the Region and District title with a 3-1 victory. Meghenn Jackson, Nichole Forrester and Katie Cox each scored goals for the Pioneers and each earned All-Tournament team honors. The ladies won over Potomac State Community College with a 3-1 victory.
The Lady Pioneers triumphed over regional rivals Potomac State Community College in a championship match on Saturday. The Pioneers won their seventh straight game with a 3-1 score over Potomac, with Katie Cox, Meghenn Jackson and Nikki Forrester each scoring goals. All three players were named to the All Tournament Team. The Pioneers will next challenge Tompkins Cortland College in New York for the National Tournament on Nov. 8.

The Anne Arundel Community College women’s soccer team will play for the NJCAA Division III Region 20 Championship on Saturday afternoon. On Tuesday evening the Pioneers played their way into the Region 20 semifinals by defeating Westmoreland County Community College 4-0 in the tournaments opening round. The win pitted number 3 AACC against the second seed, Oxford College at Emory University in a Thursday morning showdown. The game was notched 0-0 at halftime but would not end that way as the Pioneers erupted for three goals in the second half. Meghenn Jackson scored two goals and finishes the season with 14 goals. Sophomore Katie Cox scored a goal and freshman Alyssa Hankins connected for an assist. The women's soccer team beat Westmoreland County Community College 6-1 in a big win.

Anne Arundel Community College women’s soccer closed out the month of September with 6-1, a victory over Westmoreland County Community College on the 29th. AACC blasted shots early and often at Westmoreland’s goalie and built a 3-1 lead going into halftime. The Pioneers would match their three-goal first half effort with three more in the second half. AACC's women's lacrosse team finished their season Tuesday with a victory over Howard Community College.

Anne Arundel Community College’s women's lacrosse team closed their regular season with back-to-back wins against Harford Community College and Howard Community College. With the two victories, the Pioneers completed their perfect regular season finishing undefeated with a final record of 16-0 overall and 8-0 in the Maryland Junior College conference.
