Centrowitz Craves Record-Breaking Mile Run at Millrose
The Broadneck grad will be running again in the New York indoor track meet.
The 106th Millrose Games in New York City's Armory is one of the largest indoor track meets in the country. Broadneck's Olympic running sensation Matthew Centrowitz recently told Supersport.com that he's prepared and confident about the upcoming meet. The Millrose Games begin Feb. 16 in New York. According to Runnersworld, Centrowitz has told race organizers that he wants to beat the current mile run record, set by Bernard Lagat in 2005, of 3:52.87. When Centrowitz ran at the Armory in 2011 during the IAFF World Championships, he set a time of 3:53.92. But since then, he's earned experience in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
