Mother's Launches Free Shuttle Service for Patrons

The shuttle is a phone call away for customers that live within three to five miles of the Arnold restaurant.

Having a night out drinking with friends at Mother's Peninsula Grille in Arnold just got a little more convenient, and a lot safer. The bar and restaurant, which opened in October, recently launched a shuttle service that will pick up customers from their homes and drop them off at the restaurant. As long as they live within three to five miles of the Arnold restaurant, the shuttle will pick them up. The idea came from Mother’s bartender Dave Rather, who saw growing interest among customers in safely returning home after a night out with friends. Mother’s …

PHOTOS: How Broadneck Fared Sandy

Sandy left Broadneck with some downed power lines, trees and flooded roadways, but didn't put much of a dent in Broadneck's spirit.

The aftermath of Hurricane Sandy left Broadneck with some downed power lines, trees and flooded roadways, but didn't put much of a dent in Broadneck's spirit. I imagine the first thing everyone did this morning was check their power. Nope, still out. Thousands of Broadneck residents went overnight without power. In terms of outages, the area was hit among the hardest in BGE's coverage areas. When my wife and I woke up, our house's temperature was down to about 45 degrees, but that was the extent of the damage to us. High winds brought down power lines along Ritchie Highway and the Baltimore & Annapolis Trail, and a traffic light across from Safeway in Arnold, but there have been no reports thus far of trees on homes. The water level along …

Mother's Peninsula Grille Set to Open Later This Month

The new restaurant is expected to open by Oct. 24, pending final inspection approval from the county.

Mother's Peninsula Grille is aiming for an Oct. 24 opening, an employee told Patch. This will be the second Mother's location. Mother's Federal Hill Grille is a popular venue for Ravens fans in Baltimore, where they flock around the Purple Patio during game nights. The Broadneck location, at the former site of Griffin's Grill on Ritchie Highway, has been renovated to suit restaurant owner Dave Rather's designs. A new stone facade and a vastly redecorated interior will greet visitors when the restaurant opens its doors later this month. A new LED sign was erected in September. The restaurant is currently hiring for several positions. For more information, visit Mother's website. A Halloween costume party is scheduled for the evening of Oct…
