Local Olympian Centrowitz Gets Personalized Nike Shoe

A custom shoe was designed for the runner from Arnold.

Former Broadneck High runner Matthew Centrowitz had a Nike shoe designed for him at his most recent race in New York. At the 106th Millrose Games in New York City on Saturday, Centrowitz beat his own record, and placed second in breaking Bernard Lagat's Wanamaker mile record, with a time of 3:51.34, according to the New York Daily News. The time was 2.5 seconds faster than Centrowitz' time at last year's Millrose Games, where he placed first.  During the race, Centrowitz wore pink Nike running shoes designed just for him by Nike. The company issued a press release about the shoes a few days before the race, saying they featured customized track spikes.
