Memorial for Santiago López to be Held Friday

Lopez was killed while working at a Broadneck home following Hurricane Sandy.

A memorial service for Santiago López Ángeles will be held Friday at the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis. Lopez, 50, a 20-year resident of Annapolis and formerly of Constitución Mexicana in the town of San Juan Mazatlán, died tragically in an accident on Oct. 31 following Hurricane Sandy. He was the husband of Bertha Gonzalez Olea of Mexico and father of Miguel Angel López Gonzalez of Annapolis. With the help of donations from the community and the Mexican Consulate, his remains were returned to Mexico last month where he was buried. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 14 at 6:30 p.m. at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Annapolis, 710 Ridgely Ave., Annapolis. Friends are invited to attend. See also:

Donation Fund Established for Man Killed On Job

Residents of the Amberley community have established donation fund the family of the contractor who was killed while removing a tree from their neighborhood after Hurricane Sandy. Santiago Lopez, 50, died on Wednesday afternoon in what his friends have called a "freak accident" that happened in front of his son. Lopez was well known in the community, and had worked for W.D. Olsen Tree Care, an Annapolis-based tree removal service, for more than 10 years.  Anyone wishing to donate can visit any branch of M&T Bank, where there is a Santiago Lopez Family Fund.
