Christmas Tree Recycling in Broadneck

The county offers tips for how to prepare your pine for pick-up after the holidays.

Still have a Christmas tree in your home? Before you get rid of it, Anne Arundel County has some guidelines for you to follow. Christmas trees will be collected on regular curbside collection days and should be placed outside by 6 a.m. on that day to make sure that it's not missed. To avoid making a mess and having needles in the carpet, tree experts suggest purchasing a tree disposal bag from a local hardware store and carting it out in the bag. Anne Arundel County residents can "go green" and recycle worn out Christmas trees through curbside recycling.

You’ve opened all the presents under it. You’ve sung carols around it. You’ve taken photos near it. Now what do you do with the Christmas tree wilting in your living room?  You can always “go green” to get rid of your evergreen, fir or spruce.  Anne Arundel County and City of Annapolis residents looking to chuck their Christmas tree can turn to the curb on your scheduled recycle day. I live in an Annapolis-area apartment complex and do not have curbside pickup. We take our trash and recylables to the dumpsters in the parking lot. Is there a place in Annapolis where I can drop off my live tree for recycling?
