ReplyYou know, Melanie, my initial frustration was at the thought of cigarettes being the focus and feeling bad that enough people are still killing themselves with them to warrant a place called Discount Tobacco opening up in our neighborhood. I hear they are more of a "novelty" shop as it turns out. I haven't been in the shop myself but I suspect it is not a place I will frequent. Still wishing for that sporting goods or book store!

ReplyThanks for sharing, Amy! Between the end of the shuttle program and the end of the Harry Potter era, I am reeling with nostalgia and a sense of loss! :)

ReplyStumbled onto your Bloomingdale Patch story while looking for info for my Broadneck Patch blog post (Annapolis, MD area) about the launch this Friday - http://broadneck.patch.com/blog_posts/the-biggest-firework-of-them-all. I put a link to your great set of tips for folks up here who might be headed down for the launch. My family will be at Jetty Park! Can't wait to see the ultimate post-July 4th firework!

ReplyI agree, Mandy. Love the historical perspective. I think two homes in the Cape will do it for us. We are happy with our spot, although there is one lot in the community that I covet. Maybe one day I will have a vacation home - in the Cape!

We visited this shop with our mother-daughter book club this past weekend (after reading the novel, Chocolat). Great tour and interesting business story - not to mention the wonderful chocolate! The tour was free. I'm sure the class is terrific, too.
