Cheryl,
I think you and I are dancing around this issue. My original comments dealt with the authors view concerning the current occupier of the White House, his disenchantment personally and possibly a broader disappointment from a racial aspect. Again....I will state that most folks could see this coming.
Your racial background, my racial background and Obama's racial background should not have anything to do with anything, but yet it does and again........I'm not surprised. Obama is a politcian and nothing else which means self preservation and the parties dominance and that requires him to mingle with the rich & well connected..............surprise? It appears that the author and many people of color "may" have expected too much from the current occupier, it's not their fault.....they have been used as pawns in a age old game. I probably a little dense, but I'm still having trouble tying in your comments to the original subject.....no disrespect. -

Well...not being familiar with the voting habits or blogs of Mr. Raynard Jackson, I went with the words he typed. My point was.....welcome to the world of disenchantment with elected leaders.....no matter which party, no matter what color. Being a senior type white man, I'm all too familiar with less than stellar characters. Mr. Jackson seems to be astonished by this, it's a new experience for some......I was trying to say......it's the norm, join the club. The current occupier of the White House is no different. -

Cheryl,
"Perhaps the writer is really comparing a bi-racial person to persons of one race."I enjoyed reading your comments, but respectfully I don't see the connection you make. I re-read the authors article several times and I see nothing concerning bi-racial or multi-racial issues. I do see a very upset person who seems to be disenchanted with the current occupier of the White House and for many reasons, but not the ones you mention. The Tiger Woods analogy was a comedian's routine to try to make an audience laugh.

ReplyI sense the author of this article is experiencing some serious "buyer's remorse". Any long time follower of politics saw this coming a long time ago. He's nothing more than a normal politician who's main goal is his personal professional survival and secondly their parties dominance, that is the reality. If expectations are unmet by a certain candidate....then vote them out.....if they keep getting in then we nobody to blame but ourselves.

Thought I would drop by the old site. What happened to you? You used to seem like you had a good head on your shoulders, misguided as you were at least your arguments were viable. I sense much bitterness, maybe the burden of carrying the flag has become too much? Stay loose Jag...... -

ReplyDelaney states that Duncan "has the long term vision" and has a plan "to make Montgomery work". I would be interested to hear what that "vision" and "plan" are?

I agree.....keep politics away from the Holidays, especially ones that should offer a time for reflection and not political opportunism......Lord knows we have enough of that stuff all year round now.....it never stops....on all levels now. There is a time and place for "schmoozing" for votes.......Memorial Day is NOT one of them.

It appears that we agree that there are more than enough weasels to go around. Wouldn't it be nice to find a non-weasle :)
