ReplyIt seems a bit ironic that an anti bullying campaign would end with a water balloon attack. That somehow doesn't seem that far removed from bullying, but that's just my opinion. At any rate, the goal is a worthy one.

ReplyI'm sorry the veto didn't hold. They can call it a fee if they want, but in effect it's just another tax.

ReplyWhile I'm a strong advocate for smoke alarms, this seems like an instance where government is overstepping its authority. Next thing they'll demand is that we refrigerate our bread to prevent mold. I can understand applying this rule to rental properties, where inhabitants are at the mercy of the landlord, but as a homeowner, I feel this is an intrusion on my rights.

ReplyIt sounds like Lawler is great at blaming others for his failures--this time, the management company. Since he obviously had enough notice of the impending eviction to acquire storage units, he should have been able to notify patrons or store all their property safely. The arrogance of this family, especially recalling the nasty posts by their daughter, is appalling.

I think the problem is that people move into a relatively quiet little town because they like what it has to offer, but then they want the conveniences they left behind in their more urban neighborhood. As a result, they end up destroying the reasons they moved there in the first place. I like convenience too, but there's a price to pay and just like a marriage, you don't want to change the person you love into someone else.

ReplyI don't see that his status is relevant. What's important is that he's a thief. Is it less of a crime if he's a citizen?

I agree with your first statement, but if his action was not authorized, he should be disciplined. We may eventually learn that one of his superiors authorized it, so at this point I think we should withold judgement.

to weqdfds: It's bad enough that you hijacked a story to post links to ads, but even worse, because this story was about a teen who was killed. Are you some kind of sub-human?
