Man Hurt, Rescued After Fall Down Steep Hill

Fire officials said the 69-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries after falling off a tram near his home in Arnold.

A 69-year-old man suffered serious and life-threatening injuries after he fell down a hill outside his Arnold home and was rescued by emergency crews.

Anne Arundel County Fire Department officials said they arrived to the home in the 1300 block of Kinloch Circle in Arnold and found a man who had fallen behind his house. 

According to release, the man was located approximately 200 feet down a steep, 300-foot slope that ended at the waterfront. Fire officials said he was suffering from multiple injuries after falling from a tram while traveling down the hill.

Rescuers immobilized the man in a Rescue Basket and removed him using ropes and a hauling system to an awaiting ambulance, fire officials said. Twenty Anne Arundel County Fire and Special Operations personnel, as well as a unit from Queen Anne’s County, completed the rescue in less than 30 minutes.

The man was transported by helicopter to Shock Trauma with serious and life-threatening injuries. The police department is conducting an investigation into the incident.
